5 Treatments to Include in Your Full Mouth Reconstruction
July 17, 2025

Are there multiple aspects of your smile that you want to change? If you have several aesthetic and functional issues going on, you could likely benefit from full mouth reconstruction. This service combines multiple cosmetic and restorative treatments to restore your smile. Read on to learn about some of the different dental treatments that could be included in your full mouth reconstruction.
Dental Fillings
Dental fillings can be used to treat minor damage to the teeth. For instance, if you have a cavity or a small fracture, your dentist may be able to repair it with a filling. The first step involves your dentist administering a local anesthetic so that you don’t feel any discomfort. Then, they will prepare your tooth by removing any damaged parts and applying an acidic gel to clean the area. The filling material is then added to the tooth. Today, dentists usually use a tooth-colored composite resin for the most effective and natural-looking results.
Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment is used to save teeth that have been significantly damaged and eliminate discomfort. Once the area has been numbed with a local anesthetic, your dentist will make a small hole in your enamel and remove all of the damaged and infected tissue from the inside of your tooth. Afterward, they will clean and sanitize the tooth to ensure that it is free from bacteria. Lastly, the tooth is filled with biocompatible filling material.
Dental Crown
Getting a dental crown can be completed in just two appointments. First, a thin layer of enamel needs to be removed. This creates room for the crown to fit comfortably in the mouth and appear natural. An impression is then taken and sent to the dental laboratory where your crown will be crafted. Once it’s ready, you can return to the dental office to have it placed.
Veneers
Dental veneers are thin shells of tooth-colored porcelain that are adhered to the front-facing surfaces of the teeth to mask imperfections. The durable, natural-looking material used can conceal a single damaged tooth or a mouthful of cosmetic flaws. Generally speaking, veneers are used to address teeth that are chipped, gapped, misaligned, misshapen, discolored, undersized, and more!
Dental Implants
Dental implants are made from titanium, and they look like tiny screws. During the placement procedure, the implants are inserted into the jawbone. Over the next couple of months, the implants will fuse to your bone in a process called “osseointegration.” Dental crowns or other restorations are them attached to your implants via metal connector pieces called “abutments.” Then, you can show off a complete smile!
Full mouth reconstruction can include pretty much any dental treatment. During your consultation with your dentist, you will be able to discuss your smile goals so a customized treatment plan can be put together just for you.
